We spent this past weekend in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Jonathan had an EdUSA conference there all week and the kids and I joined him for a long weekend -- it was amazing! Chiang Mai is known for its culture and character -- and as a quaint and cooler contrast to the city of Bangkok. The highlight for the kids was
Maesa Elephant Camp, where we saw elephants paint, play a soccer match and then were able to take a 30 minute elephant trek into the mountains. We also visited Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, the city's most famous Buddhist temple which has a golden chedi (spire) and stands on a mountain top with incredible views of the city. Abe even met a friend who introduced him to rhino beetles...which appear only one month out of the year and apparently have fighting matches that are quite a lucrative market in Chiang Mai!
Here are some highlights....

And a bunch of others....
