Mom, Dad, Addie, Abe and I tagged along on Jonathan's work trip to Saigon last week and finished off the weekend with a tour of the Mekong Delta. It was such a memorable trip, with enough history, scenery, shopping, adventure, good food and culture to keep our whole group entertained! Saigon was so charmingly chaotic and I would count the floating world of the Mekong Delta a definite must-see for Southeast Asia..we were all amazed. Some of the highlights were:
*Water Puppet Show in Saigon
*Rex Hotel and roof-top dining
*Shopping the Ben Thanh Market
*Mom and Dad's Cu Chi Tunnel Tour
*Floating Can Tho Market
*"Wise-eyed boats" and our search for Ping :)
*Canal boat tour of Ben Tre island (with coconut factory tour and traditional four-course Vietnamese lunch)
*Motorbike tour to the Stork Preserve at Tra Su
*Rice hats...rice hats...rice hats!
Here are some pictures:
And a quick note to my fellow Hollywood-trackers, we did eat at Brad and Angelina's favorite Saigon hot spot, The Temple Club...and I'm ashamed to say I even asked the waiter where they normally sit...and he showed me!:)
