We wanted to officially announce on our blog (for all of you who have not yet heard) that we are expecting another child! Definitely a surprise, but we very excited to build our family and feel truly blessed by the ways in which the Lord has proven Himself faithful during these past few whirlwind-like weeks! As planned, we will be returning to Bangalore in early January and will have the baby here as well. My “official” due date is May 20 (one day before my mom’s birthday) and I am 14 weeks along. We are so thankful that the timing works well with our return trip to the States and even more thankful that I will be able to bring back some of our maternity and nursery items that we had stored away for safe-keeping. We have found a wonderful hospital very close to where we live and I have been equally impressed with my doctor and his staff. For those of you who might be wondering, they handle labor and delivery procedures exactly as they do back home (yes, epidurals are available!) and the only major difference is that it is illegal to find out the sex of the baby prior to delivery. I’ve already been required to sign multiple forms attesting that I will not inquire about or discuss the sex of the baby with any of the hospital staff. Unfortunately, this is due to cases of female infanticide (aborting of female babies) that are still prevalent in India. In case you have a few minutes and want to check out the link to our hospital, it is as follows:

Thank you in advance for your continued prayers as we walk through all the unknowns of these upcoming months -- pregnancy, visa reapplication, flights to and from the States, etc. We will be sure to keep you posted...and our big-sister-to-be says hello (while not looking too excited about all of this news)!

RE: Dirt floor hospitals...
"This is where they have babies!"
Congratulations you guys. It will be great for Addie to have a little brother or sister. Although, you do become more like officials in a football game than parents when the second one gets older.
