Phra Khanong -- Our New Neighborhood!

Emma and I had a chance to explore yesterday while the kids were in school. Our neighborhood, Phra Khanong, is located about 20 minutes from the heart of Bangkok (where Jonathan's office is located) and about 30 minutes (in the opposite direction) to Addie and Abe's school.

Phra Khanong is one of 50 districts or neighborhoods in Bangkok, which has a total population of around 15 million people (more than double KL's population of 7 million) It is located on one of the many canals running through the city and is mostly Thai is ethnicity. We are doing our best to learn some key words to communicate with our neighbors (English is not widely spoken)!

Here are some pictures -- I only had my phone camera and Emma on my back!

Our street....

Our front gate....

A local fruit cart....

A traditional Thai home....

The canal....

A corner shop...

A motorcycle taxi stand just down our street -- Jonathan uses one to get to work every day!

...More pictures to come as we settle in!:)
