Happy Dasara!

Dasara is a 10-day Hindu festival primarily celebrated in southern India as a celebration of “truth over evil”. During Dasara, people spend hours decorating the entrances of houses & shops (motorcycles too!) with flower garlands called Torans ("floral gateways") and offer Pujas (religious ritual of prayers/offerings) to their chosen gods and goddesses. Our neighbors were preparing for tomorrow’s Dasara festivities while Addie and I returned home from the grocery store this morning. The “decorating committee” was very excited to pose for pictures (enthralled to see their photo on the digital window afterward) and were quite proud of their works in progress. Enjoy... and Happy Dasara to you all!
